Howdy Everyone,
I hope you all had a good Easter, for those celebrating. I just a few more days to go before it is the Great and Holy Pascha for us in the Orthodox Church. In the meantime I’ve been relatively mum, as you can tell during this Holy Week. I’ve been quite busy with some recordings, writings, and show appearances beforehand to keep the content mill/budding “e-personality/e-celeb” thing going. I’m not a fan of such terms mind you, but labels come your way whether you like them or not. I am merely just a man going on an intellectual journey that I hope you all have enjoyed so far. I haven’t written much lately and yet the subscriber count to the newsletter has been going up, so welcome to all the new people!
To those of you who are new here, I wish to provide a short introduction to who I am and what I do. I’m Matthew, most commonly referred to as The Prudentialist online, your friendly neighborhood reactionary with an amphibious profile picture. I write on culture, religion, rural life, American politics and international relations, from a somewhat reactionary, but more importantly honest perspective of where I come from and how I see the world.
With that out of the way, I wanted to get to the meat and potatoes of it all and let you know what’s coming soon.
There will be a Paschal reflection piece, just as there was one last year. I highly encourage you to read last year’s if you haven’t already:
I have been busy on a few other shows as of late, with most of my work online being on YouTube, and then here on Substack. So if you’re interested in that, here’s what I’ve been up to lately.
A discussion with Auron MacIntyre from The Blaze over the tragedy in Nashville, and the political events that have unfolded around it, and how the issue of Gender has led to instances of political violence and low intensity conflict that I had cheekily labeled it, “Bleeding Transas”.
I also spoke on the same issue with Patrick Casey and Ryan Turnipseed on Patrick’s show, Restoring Order.
Two weeks ago I had the great time with Luke Avery, host of Lambda Bible Studies on his annual “Lambster” show, with dozens of personalities from Stephen Wolfe to Ed Dutton being interviewed. I had the last appearance of the week, emphasizing faith and for Christians to remember our place in this world.
That same day I had spoke with Scott Mannion of Greenwood, on rural history and localism, my own background (Third Culture Kid now deep in rural USA), and the politics of what many call “the e-right”.
What Happens Next
For starters, a hell of a lot more writing. I plan on having the major essays out soon for paid subscribers that will be in my future book, Dispatches from The Imperial Heartland out by the year’s end (Lord Willing.) This book will be a collection of essays, political, cultural, and with some poetry dashed in between. This will be my first foray into a physical text, as I am also working on a much more academic work in the background when my schedule permits.
You’ll see me next when the pre-scheduled Paschal address comes out this Sunday.
With a grateful heart,
-Prude.
