I sense so many that are without meaning and purpose nowadays. I feel like that’s why you see so many people attach themselves to such Earthly causes.

The problem with Earthly causes is that at some point they all come to an end. And then what?

Thanks for sharing this

My wife is a palliative care nurse. She has supported hundreds of people in their last two weeks of life.

She has shared with me, some of the things she has seen. I guess, just to offload. It is a highly emotional job.

No one gives up breathing, they keep fighting to the end.

Some people have huge regrets which appear to torment them as they die.

Sometimes there is relief. Maybe the death is after a long debilitating illness.

If there is a strong family bond, even the most professional nurse will cry.

When a Christian dies, there is sadness, but hope is liberally mingled amongst the emotions. She has only seen one death bed conversion, where the patient asked God for forgiveness.

Life is fragile and precious and we should try to live moral lives. As the past comes into sharp focus at the end.

Poor life decisions which hurt others have a tendency to haunt the patient in their last days. While dying in an atmosphere of love is the best environment.

We definitely reap what we sow at the end.

Really necessary call for action. As someone who was stuck on that way of really life and has recently started to find god, that way of living is something i wouldn't desire on my worst enemy.

Memento mori

Memento vivere

I feel so strongly about these interconnected matters of the heart, mind, and spirit, I had those four words tattooed across my chest as a reminder. Perhaps that lands on some as cheesy and try-hard, but for me, it’s an accountability device that works. I rarely live up to it, but utilizing ancient stoicism as an operating system for life has been transformative.

Rather bleak Prude, is this what the inside of your mind looks like?

Assuredly not, I am quite joyful in my life contrary to opinions held by some.

Well the bleakness of a life lived in search of the next dopamine hit cannot be overstated. Id say prude expressed it really well.
